The lack of mass tourism gives Ukraine a special charm and authenticity often missing in other countries.

But which cities are the best for the first acquaintance with Ukraine? We made a list oftop Ukrainian cities.

Kyiv

Kyiv is one of the most famous city in Eastern Europe. Also, Kyiv is the cultural and spiritual capital of the country. More than 2 million foreign tourists and more than 3 million domestic tourists visited Kyiv last year.

Due to the hilly territory, the city is very picturesque and has more than 20 viewpoints. Keep in mind that Kyiv is quite large, and the tour might take 10 kilometers.

How much time do you need to spend in Kyiv to explore this city? You need a minimum of two days, but three days will be better.

As a tourist: visit two UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Kyiv Pechersk Lavra and St. Sophia Cathedral. Also, take a walk along Andrew’s Descent — one of the oldest streets and visit an impressive House with chimeras.

Lviv

Odessa

It is a colorful city on the seaside. Odessa hosted more than 3.2 million tourist in 2018.
